As part of Blattner's continued 50,000 megawatt industry milestone celebration, the company is working with a group of Central Minnesota businesses to bring light, hope and community. The next addition of decorative, festoon lights were hung in downtown St. Cloud. There are now multiple series of light strings running from the 900 block of W. St. Germain Street to the 600 block of W. St. Germain Street that is lighting up the area.
Easement approvals and construction took place over the summer, from June through August, and the lights were officially turned on during the Paramount’s 100th Anniversary celebration that was held Thursday, August 26th. The new festoon lights frame the Paramount’s marquee sign and continue to run down St. Germain Street. There are additional plans to complete the lighting with tree lights in the pavilion outside the old Herberger’s building.
The lights and installation were made possible by a donation from Blattner Company and in-kind gifts from Batteries Plus Bulbs, BCI Construction, Design Electric, and Inventure Properties.
The first phase of the festoon lights was installed in 2019 and lights up downtown St. Cloud on 5th Avenue from St. Germain Street to 1st Street South.
